If adhesive oozes up between tiles when you press the tile into place you are using too much adhesive. Spread the material in sweeping arcs pressing it into the joints to fill them completely. Grouting is the final step of installing ceramic wall tile after the tile adhesive has fully cured. Use the center tile as a reference point and install the remaining tiles along straight lines.

The color of grout you choose can play into your design in different ways.
