When you have secured the toilet flange place the wax ring on it before setting the toilet on top.
A toilet flange sometimes referred to as a closet flange is the piece of the toilet upon which the toilet rests.
The wax ring is a gasket that serves to seal the flange and the toilet which helps in avoiding leaks when the toilet is up it s time to bolt it.

For me i find that both types of installation work equally well.
If you recently tiled or changed the bathroom flooring the flange height is likely less than optimal.
To eliminate these issues it s important to ensure your flange is set to the right height and if it s broke or damaged in any way you ll also want to replace it.
Purchase a new one.
When your toilet flange is unlevel or not set to the right height the toilet may wobble or even leak at the base.
Serves the dual purpose of supporting the toilet and connection it to not only the floor but also the plumbing.
If the flange is placed too high it runs the risk of making the toilet wobbly.
Optimum flange height to aim for is 1 4 inch above the finished floor.
Remember to use a wax ring between the toilet flange and toilet bowl.
The correct height for me is just above or even with the finish floor.

If the previous flange is too low purchase one that is designed to sit on the finished floor and provide the optimum toilet flange height.
There does not seem to be a consense of opinion when it comes to even with the floor or just above the floor.
This typically allows for almost any type of wax ring to be used and still ensure a good seal.
The flange is further secured by closet bolts that anchor it to the floor.
The recommended height is higher than the floor.
