There are two options this step.
Toilet drain ring in floor cracked.
In a less common scenario the water from the toilet bowl will slowly leak out into the drain instead of onto the floor.

Rest the toilet bowl on its side place it on a towel or cloth to protect the floor and attach the replacement wax ring to the bottom of the bowl this technique helps ensure the ring is in the proper position when placing the toilet over the flange.
A toilet flange has a metal or plastic ring that holds the toilet to the floor and when the ring breaks it can render the toilet unusable.
Whether or not the wax seal toilet ring is at fault once you remove the toilet you ll still need to install a new wax ring.
Finally purchase a new flange and screw it over the gasket on the outflow pipe.
If the toilet rocks back and forth the toilet flange could be damaged.
Once the toilet has been removed plug the outflow pipe with a towel and then scrape off the wax ring.

If your fixture is loose you need to replace the wax seal and reset it so it is secure.
Then remove the toilet by disconnecting the hoses and unscrewing the bolts on the floor.
The drain in the toilet bowl is basically a p trap.
Check the wax ring as that seals the drain and prevents water from seeping out from the base of the toilet.

If the drain lines in your home have poor venting as in figure a for example water rushing down the drains will pull water from nearby p traps.
Next install a new wax ring.
If the toilet bowl seems to mysteriously lose its water you could have a cracked toilet that leaks into the drain.
With the toilet bowl full of water fit the head of the plunger tightly to the drain hole in the bottom of the bowl.
