Ruby nell bridges hall is an american hero. She was born on september 8 1954 and is still alive today.

Still alive and active at age 64. The family life of ruby was just like every other black family back in the days. Ruby bridges is the name of the first black child that attended an all white school in new orleans. She is now chair of the ruby bridges foundation which she formed in 1999 to promote the values of tolerance respect and appreciation of all differences.

She runs the ruby bridges foundation to help troubled children at william frantz and other schools. Ruby the eldest among her five siblings was born on a lower middle class family working to make their ends meet. With the group ruby travels the country advocating the importance of education and integration to students. But the contribution of ruby remained immortal in the history books.

Ruby bridges was the first african american child to integrate an all white public elementary school in the south. After graduating from a desegregated high school she worked as a travel agent for 15 years and later became a full time parent. She was the first african american child to desegregate william frantz elementary school. Forty six years after integrating a new orleans elemtary school ruby bridges is back this time on her own accord to save the school.
